Willow Technology Announces General Availability
of MQSeries for SCO OpenServer
Latest Version for SCO OpenServer Offers Expanded Functionality and
Discounted Upgrade
CAMPBELL, California--December 24, 1998--Willow Technology, Inc.,
the leading independent provider of MQSeries client and server products, today announced
the conclusion of Beta testing and General Availability of its MQSeries for SCO OpenSever
server messaging software for SCO
(Nasdaq:SCOC) operating systems. The product
is fully compliant with IBM
(NYSE:IBM) MQSeries, the award-winning
industry leader in messaging middleware technology.
The new Willow product is based on code licensed from IBM and provides MQSeries V2
server level function. It replaces the obsoleted MQSeries V1 product for SCO, previously
marketed by IBM.
Pricing and Availability
MQSeries for SCO OpenServer requires SCO OpenServer version 5.0.4 or later with the
UnixWare and OpenServer Development Kit 7.0.0u (UDK) for MQSeries application development,
and SCO OpenServer version 5.0.2 or later with the OSRCompat module for deployment.
The products is initially available for the English, French, German and Spanish
language markets. US list prices start at $3,500 for a single CPU system. Willow is
offering upgrade discounts to customers who acquired the MQSeries V1 product from IBM
prior to November 15, 1998. The product will begin shipping on January 11, 1999.
